Tapering Perspective

These pictures were taken in the City Palace Museum in Udaipur, Rajasthan. There are five rooms in a series that are connected by doors. The doors are so positioned that at first glance it creates the illusion that one is looking into a mirror. My first instinct on coming face to face with the first door was to look back on the wall behind me to check whether there was another mirror. Only when I did not find the other mirror, I looked closely enough to make out that it was indeed a series of doors.
